Collision Repair

 

Our Collision Repair Technology program gives you the skills to repair Damage resulting from everyday vehicle collisions, and vehicles can be refinished to look and drive like new. Automotive body repairers, often called collision repair technicians, straighten bent bodies, remove dents, replace crumpled parts that cannot be repaired, in some cases fabricated new parts, and paint vehicles. You generally will work in a groups to complete the repairs, with direction from the instructor. In some cases your senior year you could be apprentice to assist experienced technician’s at dealerships or family owned shops.

Today’s auto body technicians must be trained in the construction of the automobile body and frame. Automobile production uses materials and manufacturing techniques that demand that the auto body repair technician be competent in metalworking, welding, uni ‐body construction, surface preparation, High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP)painting and accurate repair estimating. Students use safe and modern repair equipment in all phases of their training.
