Journeymen Electricians - Arrow Electric

Role and Responsibilities

Journeymen Electricians Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. Under supervision of Foremen and Project Manager’s, they also ensure that work is in accordance with relevant codes. Other duties may include:

·         Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes

·         Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job; Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps

·         Be knowledgeable on tool usage, some examples include: cable reels, screwdrivers, stripping tools, voltage or current meters, wire or cable cutters, etc.

·         Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

·         Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.

·         Follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety codes.

·         Place conduit, pipes, or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes.

·         Must have knowledge of special systems

·         Establish and maintain a team work environment with others; appropriate interaction with external customers or the public

Qualifications and Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; Hold a Journeymen’s card (completed 4 years of Apprenticeship) or equivalent in years of experience. Minimum of OSHA 10 completed.

Work Environment

This job operates in a field environment. Requires working in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions, working in cramped work spaces and getting into awkward positions, working in very hot (above 90 F degrees) or very cold (below 32 F degrees) temperatures. Includes exposure to contaminants and exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.

Physical Demands

This is largely an active role. Requires repetitive movement; climbing ladders, scaffolds, or poles; standing, walking and running; using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls; and bending or twisting.

Duties:

Experience:
